We have spent a wonderful week at The Mora in Zanzibar.  Everyone was so friendly and helpful, drinks and food were fantastic.
A couple of shout outs in particular, Ziada at the activity pool took excellent care of us all week thank you so much.
Joseph who put on a dance class for us which we really enjoyed and who was so patient with me learning the routine!

Lovely experience here! All the staff are so friendly, especially Joseph and Ziada. Food was lovely and the buffet was varied each day, room was nice and cold and facilities were amazing. I had a wedding of about 135 people at the Mora  in October 2026,it was worth every penny.
If you are looking for an all inclusive resort with Views.
The Mora is the place to be.
It caters to all age groups ,kids,teens,adults and the old.
There is loads of restaurants, if prefer alacarte there is a menu for that.
The service was great ,staff are friendly and helpful.
The is daily entertainment so you can't get bored.
This was our second trip at the Mora and I would definitely come back.
It is perfect for honeymoon, birthdays,weddings,retreats,family vacations,get aways.
It is worth every penny.
Special shout outs to Honoratha organized everything for us, William (accounts)Pwani(not sure of the spelling),Ashok who made sure we got the best experience,Ruwan,Maryam,Benjamin the list is endless but those are the names I recall.

A Wonderful Stay at The Mora Zanzibar

We had a wonderful stay at The Mora Zanzibar and truly enjoyed our holiday. The hotel, its atmosphere, and the hospitality of the staff made our experience very special. We were also very happy with Zanzibar as a destination and thoroughly enjoyed discovering this beautiful country.

A special thank you to Omar at the Garden Pool and Sani at Jua Grill!

Omar was an outstanding bartender whose friendliness, warm smile, and attentive service made our time at the Garden Pool even more enjoyable. He always made us feel welcome and went out of his way to ensure we had a great experience.

Sani was equally wonderful at Jua Grill. He was attentive, kind, professional, and always ready to help with a smile. His excellent service made our dining experiences memorable. Both Omar and Sani are a real credit to the hotel, and we sincerely hope their efforts are recognized by the management. They made a genuine difference to our stay, and we would be delighted to see them again on a future visit.

There are just a few areas where we believe improvements could make the experience even better.

**Fishing excursions:** We found the fishing trips quite expensive. A half-day fishing excursion costing around $600 is exceptionally expensive, even for a luxury resort. We understand that fishing trips involve equipment, boats, fuel, and other operating costs. However, we noticed that employee of the hotel team also go out fishing themselves. Perhaps the hotel could consider offering guests the opportunity to join these fishing trips, where appropriate, or introduce more budget-friendly shared excursions. This would allow guests to experience local fishing alongside the team at a more reasonable price. We would genuinely love to try this on our next visit if a more affordable option were available.

**The beach and tides:** The changing tides have a significant impact on the beach experience. We understand that this is a natural feature of Zanzibar and certainly not something the hotel can control. Nevertheless, it does affect access to the sea and the overall enjoyment of the beach at different times of the day. Clear information about tide times and the best periods for swimming would be helpful for guests planning their beach time.

**Beach vendors:** The only aspect that occasionally made us uncomfortable was being approached by local vendors while trying to enter the sea. We completely understand that they are trying to earn a living by selling their products, and we respect that. However, when we politely explained that we were not interested and simply wanted to swim, some continued insisting rather than respecting our answer. We would appreciate a more considerate approach that allows guests to enjoy the beach peacefully while still respecting the local community and its livelihoods.

Apart from these few points, we were very happy with our stay. The overall experience was enjoyable, and the warmth of the staff, especially Omar and Sani, left us with lovely memories.

We would happily consider returning to The Mora Zanzibar. With a few small improvements, particularly regarding fishing excursion prices and the beach experience, the resort could make an already wonderful holiday even better.

The Exlipse bar staff of Halima (my ‘Toto’ and Ziada (my dada) and Tabitha are just so amazing and happy people who made us feel so welcome. The Pool staff, Ramadan and Emanuel looked after us each day by the pool and always kept checking in with us to ensure we had everything we needed. Hassan taught me how to play fun games and how to dance some awesome dances, and Simai who taught me to speak Swahili with confidence (poa! Fresh!) and made it fun! Very welcoming and helpful staff, Thabitha, cloudy and omar behind the bar along with all other restaurant and house staff were exceptionally kind and helpful. Rooms were cleaned thoroughly, daily. The Mora is simply wonderful and the thing that made it even more special was the staff. Very attentive and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. I especially loved going to the Eclipse bar - Halimah, Zeyada, Tabitha and the whole team are so wonderful and inject so much happiness into the experience. They really made us feel like friends and family (Halimah is now my sister ☺️☺️)!
The reception team are equally as accommodating with nothing a problem. Entertainment is always really enjoyable and the little luxuries are well worth indulging yourself. A massage on the beach is the perfect way to relax after doing many of the activities that run throughout the day. Exceptional resort that is stunning and amazingly run by people who make you feel special. The resort is expansive with tons of activities both in the resort and with optional tours close by. The customer experience manager, Kelebek, is superb. She tended to all our needs with professionalism and kindness. The whole experience is amazing. You will want to go back to The Mora again and again.
