Our Commitment to Accessibility
We are working to improve our customer experience and help people with disabilities meet their needs independently. We are enhancing our website, themora.com, so that customers with disabilities can also book all aspects of their holiday online or contact us. We are working to ensure accessibility in accordance with the European standard (EN) 301 549 and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standard.
What are EN 301 549 and WCAG?
EN 301 549 and WCAG define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. They specify three levels of compliance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. The guidelines cover a wide range of accessibility features, including text size and color, keyboard navigation, and screen reader compatibility.
How accessible is our website currently?
Our website is not yet fully accessible to people with disabilities. However, we are continuously identifying and addressing gaps and limitations and have made significant progress over the past 18 months. We have trained and supported teams to provide an accessible website, and we have established a digital accessibility task force to review and improve our processes.
A key focus in making our website accessible is on the e-commerce services offered on the site. E-commerce services are telemedia services provided via websites and mobile device applications, offered electronically and at the individual request of a consumer for the purpose of concluding a consumer contract. On www.themora.com, the term “e-commerce service” includes areas where consumers can request contract offers and conclude contracts.
What Are We Doing to Improve Website Accessibility?
We are constantly identifying and resolving gaps and limitations on our website. Our goal is to make significant progress in improving the accessibility of our website within the next 12 months. We are currently working on:
- Continuing to train and support teams to make our website more accessible
- Completing the review of our processes by our digital accessibility task force and implementing necessary improvements
- Collecting user feedback via our website tools, analyzing and categorizing it to improve accessibility, and passing it on to our accessibility task force to inform design decisions
- Continuously optimizing our website components for greater accessibility
- Improving text size and color contrast on our website
- Enhancing keyboard operability and compatibility with screen readers
